Songwriter, singer, multi-instrumentalist Dom Clark has been writing and playing music since 7 years old. Once described by Melody Maker as "like Portishead played by proper jazz musicians" Dom's songs incorporate a myriad of musical styles from folk to jazz all wrapped up in 3-4 minute old school pop sensibilities. Now playing and recording with band Dom Clark Trio he previously enjoyed a 10 year career in The BDI's releasing several albums in Japan, a host of UK singles and praise from the likes of Robert Elms, Craig Charles and legendary "Blues & Soul" journalist David Godin.
Following the break up of the BDI's Dom recorded and released an album "The Amateur - For The Love Alone" using previous band members as guest singers before finally making the leap to lead vocalist with the Locomotive EP in 2017. Both album and EP received BBC radio play and a growing reputation on the London acoustic scene led to the creation of the Dom Clark Trio in 2017 with Adam Ayadi (drums) and Conor Cotterill (bass).
'The Amateur - For The Love Alone' is the album recorded during and after the break up of previous band The BDI's. Taking unfinished recordings that had started with the band, Dom added a couple of new songs and finished an album. Not quite a band and not quite a solo project, Dom wrote and arranged the songs and played most of the instruments whilst lead vocals are provided by ex bandmates Brent Thorley, Ian Pakes and guest vocalist Gabi Moca.
